I like to think of the Yakpack as the Samwise Gamgee of travel companions. Never the centre of attention — just there, faithfully supporting you every step of the way. Steadfast, true, and loyal.
And honestly, I’ve always thought that good old Sam might be the real hero. He knows who he is. He knows what matters. And he takes joy in the simplest, most everyday pleasures of life.

This blog, Yakpack Nomad, and our Instagram page @yakpack.nomad are dedicated to celebrating the creative, artistic, storytelling side of Yakpack. We hope to nurture and encourage people to use their voices — and tell their own stories. All of them.
Because I believe that everyone should have a place to share their journey — even when it feels small or ordinary. Especially then.
I’ve always loved to travel — to move, to explore — and I’ve been doing it since before I could remember, raised by parents who were wanderers too. I’ve lived in many countries, visited even more. And I’ve realised something: our lives, no matter where they unfold, are made up of moments.
Moments like beads on a necklace.
Sometimes, in my more fanciful moods, I imagine them like the 108 beads of a mala — each one distinct, yet forming a complete, beautiful whole.
Some of my moments include swimming with manta rays in the Maldives. Others: listening to my seven-year-old daughter explain childbirth —
“I know you need a willy, but I’m not sure if that’s to get it in, or get it out!”
One moment majestic. The other hilarious.
Both, absolutely precious.
If we experience even 108 such moments of joy, beauty, and love in our lifetime, I think we’ve had the most blessed journey of all.
When I founded Yakpack, I thought often of these moments. And I imagined the Yakpack as a faithful companion for them — helping you create your very own Magic Moments Mala.
